The Mural
A life painted in stories on the walls of the Monton Lighthouse
Painting a Life's Journey
Inside the lighthouse, walls are being transformed into a visual chronicle— a mural that tells the story of eight remarkable decades through images, symbols, and scenes that capture the essence of a life fully lived.
The Vision
The mural is designed to spiral upward through the lighthouse, much like life itself— beginning with the pottery kilns of Stoke-on-Trent, descending into the mines, rising through the drafting rooms and into the skies with aircraft design, and culminating in the consultancy work that brought standards and quality to countless organizations.
Interwoven throughout are images of poetry in performance, music notes from choir pieces, narrow boats on the canal, and portraits of family—all the elements that have made this life rich with meaning and purpose.
A Living Legacy
More than just decoration, the mural serves as a three-dimensional autobiography— a way for visitors to literally walk through the stages of a remarkable journey, ascending through time as they climb the lighthouse stairs.
Each level reveals new chapters, new achievements, new moments of joy and challenge. It’s a testament to the belief that every life, fully examined and celebrated, is worthy of being remembered and shared.
Documentation Coming Soon
